Video Poker is a popular game that usually will be bet on in casinos across the world, or in your house on your personal computer, using an Internet account. The rules are absolutely straightforward and involve the player attempting to get the highest mixture of cards as you can in order to acquire cash. In this respect it’s much the same as a regular game of poker, without the involvement with other players. Of course, methods used in a physical game of poker, like tricking, will be useless in Video Poker.
The game of Video Poker begins when the bettor inserts credits (whether it’s tokens, credit slips or money) into the machine and pushes the deal button. A hand of five cards will then be "handed out" on the screen.
The Video Poker machine also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and enthusiasts will need to now choose which cards to keep and which to throw away. For the cards the enthusiast wishes to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they light up. The player can decide to keep any number of cards they want, whether it is all or none.
After the gambler has selected which cards she wishes to retain, the player will then press ‘draw’, at which point any new cards are dealt if desired. The hand is now completed, with the Electronic Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands printed on the payout schedule.
Normally, the lowest winning hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money growing for each better hand. A list of common winning hands starts with jacks or better, moving on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It is obvious that the pay out schedule can vary from game to game, so that experienced players are agile enough to select the most beneficial ones each and every instance.
After the initial round has finished, the player can either decide to stay on in an attempt to increase their winnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any money that they may have won. Additionally, a few versions of the game allow the bettor a chance to double their wins, in which instance another game is played. There are also differences between individual games, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other differing characteristics to enhance playability.
